Farewell to 2024

Just a quick post, because I can’t believe the end of the year has raced up like this.

My favourite things of 2024?

  • Thursday Island and Far North Queensland trip, chasing down ancestors, exploring new places. Wonderful.
  • Watching my sons growing up and kicking goals in their adult lives
  • Despite being busy, having the time to do some good PTUA stuff and also to indulge my interests (a post or two on this soon)
EDIT: Forgot to say, perhaps the most notable PTUA-related thing this year was this ABC Radio Conversation Hour segment about railway stations. Notable because it was different – long form, and I was in the studio for it.

Resolutions? One is that I’m going to try to blog more next year. No promises though.

Hope you’ve had a good 2024, and Happy New Year for 2025!

Happy New Year!! Just arrived at the Opera House to perform opening night of opera season; crowd control v.good and trains running smoothly (skipping Circular Quay until midnight). Thanks for taking us on your trip to FNQ; very best wishes for 2025 from a Toxic Custard fan 🥳😃
