Well, I did it. I survived an entire week without chocolate.
Cruelly, my body reacted to this effort by producing a rather large pimple on the side of my nose. Is there no justice?
However, I’m conscious of the fact that diabetes is far from unknown in my family, and while I’m not going to go entirely without chocolate, I am aiming to reduce my intake in the future.
That said, those fundraiser chocolates that just showed up at work are going to look awfully inviting on Monday…

I saw that… though they’ve missed the place in North Melbourne. There’s one in Elsternwick that also does pretty good “Italian” hot chocolates.
I stayed off chocolate for two days – result one massive migraine. Cure – dose of chocolate. I guess it was withdrawal symptoms. Have shied away from chocolate since but the cravings are HUGE!!!
Be wary of the italian hot chocolate… I had one once (in Brisbane…) which was pretty much just a melted chocolate bar with some cream or milk to keep it from setting. And I mean a LITTLE bit of cream or milk…
