No more Mr Nice Guy

I’ve just killed a spider. It think it was the big four-legged one I spotted a couple of days ago on the livingroom ceiling. At the time, it crawled off to a spot in the curtains, and I decided to let it stay, as long as it kept out of the way. But tonight it was on the under side of the couch. That’s not a good spot for a big spider. One of the kids could reach under there for a toy or something.

Well my old mate Griff "Arachnid-Destroyer" Young had been in touch during the week to advise me that the vacuum-cleaner is the natural enemy of the spider. I normally evict spiders by throwing them off the balcony, but there didn’t seem to be any other way of getting this one out of there. The picket line, placards and threat of sanctions hadn’t worked. So the vacuum-cleaner it was.

It made a rather gruesome rattling noise as it whizzed up the pipe. I hope that killed it, because it’s going to be one really pissed off spider if it didn’t!
