Flinders Street, platform 13Coming into Flinders Street…

“Train arriving platform 13, this train is not taking passengers.”

The guy standing in the doorway pipes up. “I hate platform 13.”

“Why, ‘cos it’s deep underground in the middle of nowhere?”

“No” he shuddered, “I just don’t like the number 13.”

I never liked having to catch the VLine train to Drouin on that platform. I preferred when it was on platform 1 and you could do a mad dash all the way from Bourke St and jump on the train at 4.59pm.

Now the station staff look at you funny if you have a VLine ticket, damn plebs!

I hate platform 13 as well. You feel like a 2nd class citizen. I wanna be on proper railway platform. Not this one that they use when things are stuffed up(I think that is the case).

What ever happened to the plans to redevelop Flinders Street Station?

Although given the continued delays over Spencer Street, perhaps this may not be a wise option…
