I just gave Ian a lift to the airport. It’s obvious that since the September 11th attacks in the US, airport security has been beefed up. There are signs all along the driveway telling you not to leave your car unattended, for instance.
Well there’s another interesting sign, part of a long-running advertising campaign with a slogan of something like "people from all over the world come to shop at Melbourne Airport", with pictures of different people from around the world. One of the signs, on the departure level, somewhere near the Ansett terminal, shows a bloke in a turban with a beard, who quite frankly at first glance resembles someone who is quite unlikely to be shopping at any international airports at the moment.
