Back from Europe!

Hello from an aeroplane somewhere between Milan and Singapore – I’m posting this from the air, lucky enough to be returning from a European holiday, my first time overseas since 2017.

This time we stayed in three countries, five cities, visited three other cities, saw incredible architecture, famous landmarks, amazing old town streets, stunning scenery, and got to see the Louvre a few days before it was robbed. (No, it wasn’t us.)

Plus we made good use of high speed rail (and not quite so high speed rail), city metros, buses, two rack railways and two funiculars! And encountered packed trains, late trains, and a cancelled train.

Longtime readers will know that I like to post about my holidays in a lot of detail, and I’ll be doing so again. As usual I’ll backdate them, but will list them all here as I go, starting with the first pre-trip post:
